Great intro to classical music, aimed at kids, but not overly child like to drive an adult listening alone to cringe. Lots of inserts of brief bits of music, most of which I had heard before, even though I am a classical music novice. I got into this item from listening to Famous Composers, & More Famous composers by Naxos. There is some overlapin the stories, but this item gives a far broader & deeper overview. The version I got was read by the American Marin Alsop.
Thoroughly enjoyable.
Very good - By: Irish Reader, 10 Sep 2008 I bought this CD as a birthday present for my father & haven't actually heard the content myself. But because I ordered it, Amazon have prompted me to write a review. Certainly the feedback I'm getting is excellent & my Dad has derived hours of listening pleasure from it.
