Your Messages is the result of a highly inventive online collaboration which ran during November 2007, where contributors were given a single day to write a responsein exactly 300 words to a message of exactly 300 words created by Lynne Rees & Sarah Salway.

It is the same format that Rees & Salway used for their Messages collaboration. But these two women are experienced authors. Throwing the idea open to all & sundry could have been a disaster.

But it isn't. In fact, the quality of piecesin this collection is remarkably consistent & extremely readable. Humour, pathos, invention & tragedy abound, with the contributors squeezing every last drop out of the short word count.

There are many great lines scattered through these compositions, shining pieces of description or imagery that raises a smile or prompts a tear. It is genuinely that good.

As an added bonus apparently all the profits of the book are going to children's charity Kids Company.
