The story is structuredin a compelling double plot full of suspense & building tension, centred on very believable characters. Both stories are intricately woven into the powerful historical atmosphere of the setting, with great skill.

The mysterious disappearance of Professor of archeology Julian Lockheart while on a dig to uncover some new finds on the foothills of Vesuvius,is the background for an investigative thriller as good as any of its genre.
This book could only have been written by a scientist whose attention to detail is superb
