The book was spoilt by the constant reference to "blistering barbecues". The balance of 'reasonable' recipes were lacking, possible due to the nature of "blistering barbecues" corporate clients.

I bought this for a freind for a christmas present, she does a lot of barbeques, had a flick through it when i got it. What a fantastic book, anyone can use this even if they dont cook outside, its got sauces marinades desserts everything you need to make a fantastic meal. I had bought 4 carribean cook books to get the jerk chicken recipie, this book had it, i made it for my christmas party & it went down a storm, my son who is a chef wrote the recipie down it was so good. I bought a further two books one for myself & one for my son & i will be buying one for my daughter. Treat yourself if you like cooking & get this book it is the best cook book i have ever bought.

I am using this book almost every day. Some of the salads & poultry are already on the standard menuin our family. The recipes are not complicated, with hands-on practical advice, using lots of fresh, easily obtainable ingredients, & meat & veggie things seem to be getting equal attention.
The five layer pavlova is the absolute stunner. I'd never attempted a meringue before, just followed the instructions, & it happened! Like magic.
