Magical - By: Owen Leahy, 24 Nov 2006
Absolutely outstanding work, capturing the euphoria & the hysteria of the hurling golden years.
For me, the insight into the rise of Clare & the inner workings of Loughnane are the most rewarding, but open any random page & you'll find terrific anecdotes & memories.
How hurling yearns for a championship only half as competitive as these years.
The book does an amazing job of taking the reader back to the days when the country was upside-down with the excitement of pulsating championship summers.
For the fan, it's a superior reminiscence but for those interestedin what drives elite sports teams & players, you'll not find better.
Very highly recommended.

Whether you play or are a fan of hurling or not this book is motivational. A great read with excellent insights into the hearts & minds of the people who play & administer hurlingin Ireland. If you are interestedin sports psychology then this is also a very inspirational book into how the mentality of playersin sport plays as much a part as physical prowess.
