The Devil is in the detail! - By: Mr. Michael Covell, 27 Feb 2009
I had always wanted to read this book, especially as it casued such a furore, but imagine my suprise when it came & I discovered it was a badly researched, badly written book. Even the sources appear to have been lifted off websites!
The story goes that a group of high ranking noblemen helped Dr. Alfred William Pearson committ the murdersin 1888, but just scratches the surface & offers no means or motive for their involvement!
One of the chapters looks at the photo of Mary Kelly's crime scene, & comes to the conclusion that several knives, scissors & other useful implements where left strewn around, even though no one else can see them, & there is no mention if this findin the official reports, nor the contempory press!
One of the chapters of the book tries to solve the mystery of Mary Kelly, but fails miserably, as it relies on the "Abberline Diaries" which have been proven to be nothing more than badly written forgeries! If the diaries are real, why did Abberline, an educated man, spell his own name wrong!
Nothing than a theory backed up by conjecture!
Avoid this one! - By: Antonio Sironi, 20 Nov 2007
If you are looking for a book about Jack the Ripper & the Whitechapel Murders this is not the book for you. I think that a non-fictional book needs to be based on facts. In this book there are no facts but mere speculations & wrong assumptions. Information are toldin a mislending way! So, if you want to know something about these puzzling serie of murders you'd better buy books like Sugden's or Evans'.
Best Jack the Ripper Book - By: William Peters, 14 Apr 2007
This book presents factsin a superb style. After reading Ms. Trenouth's first book "Epiphany", I could hardly wait to order her second one. I was very sorry to hear what the author went through with her first book & I can see that these same people are after her again. So, I am writing this review for Ms. Trenouth personally (hope the author is reading this). This book is even better than your first, & I sincerely hope that you plan on writing more. I like how you found the real George Hutchinson & proved that Mary Jane Kelly was not really murdered. Good work & keep it up. You're amazing!!
DISASTER REVISITED - By: Bob Hinton, 13 Apr 2007
After the authors first appalling attempt to write a Jack the Ripper book, I thought that she would have taken the hint & left well enough alone.
Alas she has once more ventured into the murky waters of writing about one of the worlds most famous or infamous murderers with no more idea or knowledge of the subject that most people have about quantum mechanics.
Ms Trenouth has got to realise that if you wish to write a book & call it non-fiction, then it would help if at least some of it were based on fact. Here we have the same ludicrous theories served up again with a side salad of utter nonsense. The result is an indigestible mess of invention & press cuttings that have little if anything to with reality. At least this time she has the good grace to leave out the nonsensical black magic statue!
