My favourite of the David Tennant audios. - By: Music Lover., 27 Jul 2010
I loved listening to this. Nothing about it to not like.
David is good at doing the different voices, comes into character well as the Doctor contrasted with his own voice & did a great impression of the woman Sugar's American voice & her character as a companion.
I really loved the sound effects used as well, so fitting for this particular story.
I didn't think any of these 9th Dr audios could get any better than The Forever Trap which was so brilliantly narrated by Catherine Tate, but this is just marginally even better than that, owing to such brilliant sound effects, they really gave it atmosphere.
10 out of 10!
Enjoyable - By: C. R. Williams, 20 Jun 2010
I'm not really into audio books, you can't beat the real thing, turning pages & using your imagination to bring the words to life, but I really enjoyed this! & what made it better was that it was read by the man himself. It is well written & well read & I'll now buy othersin the series.
highly entertaing romp - By: D. Graham, 28 May 2010
Brilliantly narrated by David Tennant, this is a classic Who adventure romp, always entertaining & keeps you on the edge of your seat with the fast-paced plot.
A must for all Tenth Doctor fans!
Tennant's last voyage. - By: Mr. K. Cross, 24 May 2010
I'm experiencing a lot of firsts since being part of Amazon Vine: novelists I'd not read before, radio programmes I'd not heard, & now, as much of a Doctor Who fan that I am, my first audiobook of the series.
It's a lovely keepsake of the 10th doctor, David Tennant, much missed. This is, apparently, his last stint as the Doctor, & as such is a fitting tribute. The story involves the Doctor & the Tardis materialising inside a pioneering space cruiser on its maiden voyage, travelling to the planet Eternity. Something inevitably goes wrong,in this case most of the passengers & crew disappearing when the engines are fired up. The Doctor arrives companionless, but soon hooks up with the fabulous Sugar MacAuley, flight attendant. There follows a frantically enjoyable romp that hurtles toward an exciting climax on Eternity where something nasty awaits!
I loved Tennant's reading of this adventure. His choice of voices for each character was quite inspired & brought the whole thing to life. It didn't feel that there was just one person reading it, but a whole cast. I also loved the creepy, otherworldly soundscape,in place of the more traditional music track, used to bring great atmosphere to the proceedings.
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, & will listen to it again as it is so richin detail (&, yes, the description of the flight attendant's uniform is rather hilarious!), & there will be aspects & details that I will surely pick up on that I missed first time around. Recommended!
Fab story - By: Lavinia Huffman, 16 May 2010
I wasn't sure how I would like a story without a companion...but this was great. The story kept my interest & was a moving forward point for The Doctor.
