Frankly abysmal - By: G. Hughes, 04 Dec 2008
Oh dear. Nothing much here that fans haven't heard or seen a hundred times before, coupled with a writing style that had me lost mid-way through the second paragraph. It is quite clear that Mr McGoohan relishes his privacy & certainly does not enjoy his brief phone "interviews" (they might better be called "brief, inconsequential chats") with the author. There's a fascinating story to be told about the subject, but this simply isn't it. The rest is a re-hash of material previously made availablein a better format elsewhere, & vague speculation.
A GOOD BIOG - By: botany11, 30 Aug 2008
Patrick McGoohan's long career is often summed up just with reference to Danger Man & The Prisoner. However, the actor is much more than this & it was a delight to find this book on him. McGoohan has a reputation as a very private man, but the author manages despite this to provide an amazing amount of detail, particularly about the actor's early life, & a great amount of photographic material. I learned a lot about McGoohan from this book - recommended!

Best Book Ever On McGoohan Highly Recommended - By: J. D. Guy, 29 Aug 2008
This is an amazing book on the life of this great actor so much information I have not seen before , it has been thoroughly researched & is an excellent read, I love the Prisoner & Danger man series which are coveredin great depth here , the chapter on fall out is excellent & does justice to that very special episode of the Prisoner with lots of information behind the scenes of the production of it & how it affected the lives of those concerned , If you have the Network DVD then you should buy this book , The other chapters feature all of his film & TV work his early UK films & later Hollywood filmsin chronological order, There have been many books on the Prisoner but never a biography of McGoohan before, now the price has been reduced it is an amazing bargain, don't let this one escape you ...
Interesting Compendium - By: Mr. MG Lock, 23 Aug 2008
I have at last taken the opportunity to look through this work, & have given it two stars- for the volume of information contained within, & for some nice photographs (some of which have reproduced remarkably well). The problem is that ultimately the reader must decide for him or herself whether it best fits the criteria of biography, or a resource compendium of largely previously existing facts & informationin one heavy volume (which is for the most part well laid out, if a little crowded). As the latter it may prove a worthy addition.
