wonderful - By: E. Ellick, 21 Jul 2007
This book is full of some very realistic looking flowers. It can be alittle difficult to understand how to make some of the flowers at first because to make some I think you need some experience, but having said that once you have a basic understanding, if you reread how to make some of the flowers, it makes alot more sence. Some of the cutters I have found are quite difficult to find, but once you have found them, Alison makes about ten different flowers from the same design. At the end of the book you can see some of her cakes she has made from the flowers & are so realistic & beautiful. At first I thought I would never understand how to make the flowers because they looked complicated but as I said, if you reread, the instructions really are very helpful.
Colourful inspiration for all levels of ability - By: Sue, 02 Aug 2002
Certainly a book full of inspiration with good, clear instructions & photographs of different stages of flower construction. For the beginner, a good book to progress through from the easier flowers to the more complex. For the experienced, a good reference for new ways of making old favourites & some extra flowers not seenin other publications. Some of the cutters are difficult to get hold of though as they have been made specifically for the author & there are some designs which I felt were easier to do with methodsin other books (eg. carnations). Overall, a good source of ideas & a different approach that will no doubt stir the imagination of cake decorators everywhere.
