These three books were the best that I have ever read because not only were they a fantastic read, they also challenged mein terms of my christian walk & how I behavein times of stress & trouble. I have now read them over & over again, & my daughter has too. I really love history & Francine took me backin time, I was really there!

Three books, one message of God's love - By: , 25 Apr 2003 An excellent trilogy. A set of books that can be read again & again. Each book interacts with the others, therefore I suggest all three should be bought at the same time, since I had to 'beg, borrow & steal' before I was able to have a fulfilling read. The reader is transported back to ancient Rome & is able to identify with the struggles of the inwardly beautiful (as well as outside to me!!) Hadassah & the strong, untameable Artrtes, only to realise we are still livingin a world with the same morals & ideas...excellent. I also recommend Redeeming Love (see my review: da_mancoonian, November 2001)
WOW! - By: , 23 Apr 2002 After an intial thought, I'm not going to get into these, I couldn't but them down. The heroine Haddassah is what you dream to be like, her faith & devotion to God is amazing. Francine Rivers has completely woven history, & truth together.
I could not put it down. - By: , 08 Jun 1999 I learn so much from this series about the histroy of the Jews & Rome, the love of God to his people, & so much more. I really could not put it down & I told so many people about it. It impressed me so much, I could feel the power of God as I read it. The greatness of God & His goodness. I am not one to get into books or even movies to the point that I show an emotion, but this moved me to cry & laugh, fear & rejoice with the chatacters of the book. It brings you into another world & makes you want to stay & never leave. I was changed after reading it, truly blessed by it. I have never read something so powerful like this series.
Rivers at her best - By: , 06 Jun 1999 I read this series not long after it was published, & Francine Rivers' Mark of the Lion series is one of the best Christian trilogies published. Following Hadassah, Marcus, Atretes, Rizpah & all the other characters' lives is truly a journey well worth the time. The books are historically accurate & very informative while still being highly entertaining. This is Rivers at her best. Her other books are good as well; I especially recommend _Redeeming Love_ & _The Scarlet Thread_.
I loaned my books to a friend at church, & from there, the series fanned out to at least nine people -- moms, daughters & even my father is now reading the series. These are books everyone can enjoy, learn & grow from.
