Fine but not the best - By: S. L. C. Littlejohn, 29 Jun 2005
This book is good if you've just become vegetarian & don't know where to start but now I'm more experienced I find it relies too heavily on meat substitutes, eg, soy mince, veggie sausages, for my own tastes. If you're going vegetarian for health reasons or you avoid processed foods I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise fine & it has some good ideas, especially the barbeque section.
Great recipes, easy to follow cookbook - By: , 09 Nov 2002
This book was unleashed on the worldin the same week as I movedin with my vegetarian boyfriend (now my husband). I had no clue about vegetarian cooking & bought this bookin the hope it would help. It is a fantastic book. There is a great selection of recipes with very easy to follow instructions & lots of practical advice on the vegetarian way of life. Several of the recipesin this book are now regular favouritesin this household, & I am sure this would be echoed by others who purchased this book. it is very much a "hands on" cookery book rather than a "coffe table" book.
Ir you are looking for a good all round vegetarian cookery book - you could do much worse than to give this a go. the Rice & vegetable cheese bake on page 200 is worth the price on its own
not very good - By: , 04 Apr 2000
Some of the recipes are unoriginal & even inconvenient for those with no access to all the products. I would say it is even expensive. There are far better vegetarian books to consult.
Excellent!!!! - By: , 30 Apr 1999
I have reviewed several vegetarian cookbooks, finally there is one that anyone interestedin vegeterianism can follow easily. You will not believe on all the things you are missing by being a vegetarian!!!
Linda in "your" kitchen - By: , 27 Apr 1999
Growing up with excellent cooks like my grandma & my dad - they did not use any printed help - I found cookbooks often rather distant & patronizing. Vegetarian cook books I came acrossin Czech Republic (my homecountry) seemed to me dull & boring & the meals were not tasty at all. Until I moved to England & here I bought Linda's kitchen...Opening this book is like chatting with a good friend about what she's cooking tonight for dinner - right therein your kitchen... It is an inspiration with a plenty of space for improvizing indeed...
