A Wonder-ful herstory - By: Kurt A. Johnson, 23 Jul 2003
This highly pictorial history (or should I say “herstory”) of Wonder Woman has just about everythingin it that you could want. Beginning with Wonder Woman’s originationin the mind of Harvard-trained psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston, continuing through to her rebirth as the new Wonder Womanin 1968, through Gloria Steinem’s work to bring her back, through the television show, through today. Along the way there are many reproductions of comic book covers & comics, pictures of paraphernalia (e.g. toys, cards, macaroni, etc.), & sidebars discussing such things as lie detectors, other comic book heroines, & such.
This is a great book that taught me many things that I did not know, about her origins, who she was written for & why. I recommend this book to everyone who is interestedin Wonder Woman orin comic booksin general.
what a Wonder-ful book - By: , 14 Dec 2000
Like the othersin the series (Batman & Superman) the third of DC's big three is well served by this gorgeous tome, colorfully illustrated with a fascinating & thoroughly detailed biography of the amazing amazon. Les Daniels & Chip Kidd have done a cracking job - wonder woman never gets the sort of major recognition she deserves so its nice to see the publishers making such a big effort on a true star superhero!
One Man's Suprema is Another Man's Wonder Woman - By: , 13 Dec 2000
Great Hera! Les Daniels' "WONDER WOMAN: A Complete History" should have been titled "WONDER WOMAN: A Complete HER-story" because it ever so methodically chronicles the evolution of this AMAZING comic book heroine from her early beginnings as female role model fending off Nazis & fallingin love with a male mortal to a modern-day feminist & ambassador of peace. Richin details both written & illustrated, this is a must-have for anyone who's ever fallenin love with Wonder Woman or has simply been intrigued by her mythology. May she forever bein our hearts, stars, stripes, & all.

What little girl didn't want to grow up to be Wonder Woman, fighting for their rights,in their satin tights? This excellent & beautifully illustrated book gives us the original Princess Dianain all her golden braceleted, big-panted glory. A great Christmas present (f any of my friends are reading...)
