Outdated. - By: S. Mcgregor, 08 Feb 2007
Feel a bit fed up about this purchase. The photographs are mostlyin black & white & hopelessly outdated. There are a stupid number of useless photgraphs, that don't seem to have a point (making it confusing & time consuming to wade through) all are from the 1970's, & they're so dark & unclear, it's difficult to see what it is that you're meant to be looking at.
I am pretty sure (from researching on the net) that there are tools & equipment used for framing now that don't get a mentionin this book....which is a bit of a shame for me because it was these things that I was looking to find out more about. If you're serious about attempting framing yourself, I think you're better off with something more recent or going on a course. I am utterly uninspired.

This is a very comprehensive book. It has more ways to join a frame than I knew which equips you with being able to deal with all kinds & sizes of jobs. Similarly comprehenivein matting & mounting & many other techniques, how to deal with a wide variety of things to frame including fabrics & objects. This isn't just a few ideas put toghether to sell a book, this is a life experience given away. A very good & useful book.

Ken Oberrecht not only gives good clear instructions on the how to's of framing but also what tools & supplies you will need & where to find them. I hit gold of the first try. Thanks Mr. Oberrecht & Amazon.com. Grace M.

This book gives the reader a lot of good information so they can start framing their own art work with little or no prior experience. The author gives lots of specific examples of tools & materials. He tells you where to get them & which ones work the best.
