Best book on the subject - By: ClareSS, 13 Jul 2004
Having been diagnosed over a year ago, I have an impressive collection of books on endometriosis. This is by far the best. It tells you everything you need to know, & doesn't spend too much time on the sympathising & 'oh what a terrible disease' style of other books on the subject. After all, you know all that stuff.
I got this book just before I started new treatment, & it allowed me to go to my consultant & make informed decisions about my drugs & procedures. Definitely empowering.
I can't recommend this enough. Buy it today!
Worth ever penny - By: Mrs K E J Hampson, 27 Feb 2003
I bought this book after recently being diagnosed with endometriosis & wanting to know what exactely is happening inside me. This book explains the illness clearly &in precise detail but without confusion. I read it before my next appointment with my consultant & knew precisely what he was talking about. I was confident to ask questions about the illness too. It is a must for every sufferer of Endo but also I would recommend their partners to read it too.
Endometriosis - an academic view - By: , 20 Jul 2002
I have found this book to be very academic & detailed. There is a lot of detail & information included. Much of it was not useful to me & there was a lot of information that it did not contain. However, it is very honest & straight forward. May be depressing but it does help face reality & makes straight forward suggestions. Would recommend this book be used as a reference after reading other books on Endometriosis
Informative, concise, readable, knowledgeable book. - By: , 30 Oct 2000
I found this book incredibly informative - one of the few that gets the balance right between giving you detailed technical information, with helpful, practical suggestions for coping. It is also up to date & covers a vast amount of information, ranging from pain control, medication, fertility & many other subjects. It is helpfully punctuated with case studies from women who have experienced issues first-hand.
Especially useful for people herein the UK, who do not seem to have as much access to info as thosein the States.
A patient-centred approach that empowers women. - By: , 04 Oct 2000
This book gave me information & empowerment that allowed me to make my own decisions regarding this incurable disease. It has no known cause & no cure, & robs many women of the ability to have children. In my case, the debilitating pain made me finally seek help. I have lent it to my doctor, & she now uses it with all the doctors she trains. It gave me back ideas, choices &in the end, myself. I have bought it for many friends, especiallyin Europe where there is less information, & it has made a real difference for us.
