These books are just the best! We send a big thankyou to Janette Oke for writing them! Even at the end of the first book you feel as if you are part of the family. You can cry with them laugh with them & even feel as though you want to help them when they arein trouble. We recomend anyone of any age to read them because they are so brilliant!!! wow!! - By: , 14 May 2001 Wow! Janette Oke's books are just great! I had the books for christmas andI had finished the whole setin the week. The books make you feel asthough you are actually part of the family, & that you could meet themany day as though you have known them for your whole life. I love all herbooks & I would recomend them to anyone who loves reading. My books areall over the place because people keep borrowing them because they are sobood!! So if you havent read them then I think you should!! Xx

Janette Oke strikes me as a person desperate to get her name into the hall of famein American historiacal literature... The books says as part of the review: "Castin the mould of Little House on the Prarie"... which was not true... it was horribly unrealistic, the description of the setting didn't match the time frame.. & the whole story was just a romantic way of preaching christianity. Janette Oke needs to do more research & fill her strories with less romanticism if she wants it to be as well loved as Little House on the Prarie.
A Work of Art - By: , 09 Aug 1999 This whole series is wonderful. It has the right amount of romance & adventure & each book touches your heart. You grow with the family & their trials & tribulations & you become apart of Clark & Marty's life. A must read!

While reading I feel as though I am standing on the hill looking into the valley that is being written about, orin the room as part of the family. I have grown to love the characters! The series is truely refreshing to read.
