Superb Read - By: Draper, 21 Jan 2008
If you like the film version of the Bourne series then theses are a must read as they are so so much better stories. I watched the first film then picked up the trilogy to carry on the story but was suprised that the story was tottaly different, with very few simularities to the film, the whole premise of why Bourne was created is detailed inside the first book, to entrap the legendary Carlos the Jackyl, who does not even featurein the films at all, the second film has a few simularities but the third film only shares the main character Bourne, the rest is just screenplay. These books really gripped me, I found myself reading at every spare minute to get back into Bourne's world, superbly written as you would expect from Ludlum, & a must read for action/crime/conspirosy fan.
Classic Ludlum - By: T. Sayegh, 30 Dec 2007
I guess there is no need to present this trilogy especially after the Hollywood rendering of recent years.
One thing that is however striking - apart from the sheer weight of the book itself - is the quality of the narration with an attention to details & a use of language quite uncommon to the genre.
A real pleasure.
Could be a bit overwhelming... - By: Sara Chung, 22 Aug 2007
I orginally read all three books at different times years ago. I Loved them all, especially the first one. I picked up the trilogy book as it seemed a good way to read them all again. I have to say it was not as enjoyable the second time around. Probably because I knew what was comming & also it became a chore to slug through the 1,400 pages. I recommend a reader do one book at a time then take a reak for a few weeks or more before comming back, otherwise it all starts to run together. The Bourne Identity is a classicin the thriller genre!
WHAT A BANQUET, A VERITABLE FEAST OF READING PLEASURE. - By: L. Wilson, 18 Aug 2007
As a total fan of Robert Ludlams` work I suppose I am somewhat biased when commenting on the above. The Bourne Trilogy is an example of the true art of story telling & grips the reader from the very first page, more than can be said about the appalling film version that left a very bad tastein my mouth. (see my review). Perhaps new readers may find the books a little dated, but don`t worry you will grow to appreciate them.
