Though not perhaps the best Larson collection I've seen this book is still good for many laughs upon many laughs. Larson's familiar animal theme runs strongly throughout the pages of this book. Be it animals acting like humans, or vice versa, nearly every piece has a sense of human/animal behavior/instinct somewherein the context. This is one of the firm bases on which Larson's humour is built on. And of course we get the occasional monster strip every now & then.

Sometimes one comes across a Larson strip that one doesn't understand until after reading it repeatedly over the course of a few minutes. In this book there wasn't a single one. Which came as a bit of a disappointment.

After reading this book thoroughly for four times I still can't help but laugh out loud a few times whenever I leaf through the pages. A well recommended read to anyone who enjoys witty, insightful humour. Perhaps not the best of Larson, but still full of top-of-the-line comic strips. Guaranteed to raise a smile. Or more likely a dozen.
