I found this book informative, however has a little know-it-all feel to it. It seems to suggest all the answers, whereas there can be many other factors involved. Nice photographs & well writtenin places, but to be honest unless you are desperate for a book on riding, I would invest money elsewhere.

I found this book whilst browsingin a bookshopin France & as soon as I opened it I had to buy it. It has sections on everything from starting out to top level competition. I goes into surprisingly a lot of detail considering the range of subjects covered. The pages are bright & colourful with lots of photos & diagrams making the book as easy to flick through as it is to read from start to finish. In my opinion its the best book out there if you're looking for an all round horse riding manual.

Not what I was looking for anyway.
I wanted a step by step guide to what the learner rider has to do when trotting,cantering etc. As with alot of these books it tells you more about what the horse is doing underneath you! I needed tips ie thusting your pelvis forward whilst trottingin time with the horse-when you've mastered the knack, you & the horse should feel comfortable.

I am just starting to learn to ride & found this book very informative. I like the way it covers lots of different topics right from your first lesson up to more advanced subjects. I also like the way it covered different disciplines & gave you an intro into Dressage, jumping etc. There are so many similar horse books out there for a beginner but i think this one is worth the money as its a good all rounder!

If you are a new beginner, this is the right book. If you are a show jumper, this again the right book. If you are an advanced instructer, again this is the right book. Dressage, show jumping,troubleshooting, self improvement for a rider, & more are allin this book. It is a very useful book. You shoul dhave itin your library.
