not great - By: Ms. L. Mcnally, 05 Oct 2008
there is nothing advanced about this & it offers very little for advanced learners, i often found i was lookin up other books for the word & phrases i wanted as this book could not provide them. it has sub topics but the vocabularyin each one is quite sparse. for a better vocab bookin french try Mot A Mot.
Brilliant Vocab Book - By: A. Student, 20 Jun 2008
Was very helpful for all the topics I covered, & I found the sectionin the back containing conclusions & other phrases to usein essays very helpful.
However, I rated it 4 star because I feel some phrases & words were a bit obscure & couldn't possibly see why they are necessary. I'm not sure if there is a vocab specification for A Level & those words had to be included, but if not if it were up to me I'd remove a few. Especially seeing as some sections have multiple words for the same meaning. Overall a good vocab book.

This book is ideal as an accompaniment for French AS. It breaks down each section into managable chunks. Still, I didn't learn any of it..
If you're studying French A-Level you need this book - By: , 12 May 2002
Since I started my French course I have been glued to this book- it is my Bible. It completely invaluable as it covers all the topics you need to be familiar within a lot of useful detail. It also has a section on writing essaysin general, with pages of both basic & more sophisticated words & phrases. It's a wise investment which is definitely worth a little over five pounds.
