Not particularly useful - By: Lycos Limited C. Jones, 05 Jun 2006
This book is along the lines of a number of similar vocabulary booksin various languages. Set out under a series of headings such as "Commerce" & "Industry", it provides vocabulary which is far from everyday conversation. The vast bulk of it consists of nouns with a few verbs thrownin & the very occasional adjective.
As an enthusiastic compiler of vocabulary taken from ordinary usage, I would judge this book to have little relevance for the student looking to expand his/her vocabulary & will do little to improve your dialogue with Spanish speaking people.
A must for any A-level student. - By: , 28 Jan 2001
This book is a brilliant source of vocabulary for any student studying Spanish AS or A-level. It is divided into clear & useful sections with not only words, but phrases which are sure to impress. There is an excellent section with vocabulary for expressing your opinions & making comments on topics (particularly usefulin the oral exam) & a page of colloquial language. The French equivalent (Advanced French Vocabulary) is equally as good. Other brilliant books for students of Spanish are Palabra por Palabra, Schaums Outline Grammar & ¡Sigue!
