Very little space - By: M. B. C. Silva, 07 Aug 2007
If you are one of those woman's ho like to right about all most everything (like me), this journal has just little space. I was hopping for scans pages & so & pages where I can put pictures of me as my bump was growing, but this journal doesn't offer much.
The pictures of the baby's are beautiful, but is just about it.
A gift well received - By: , 04 Nov 2005
This is trademark Anne Geddes, carefully thought out, well designed & well produced. Good pictures, & journal headings for you to note your progress.
This is for someone who cares a great deal about their impending arrival, & should be shared with people who believe there is still SOME magicin childbirth
A disappointing book overall - By: , 22 Feb 2002
I was hoping to keep a day by day diary of my second pregnancy, but when this book arrived it did not meet up to my expactations. The spacein the book was poorly utilised & the question prompts did not focus on the sorts of issues that I wanted to record. For example,it allows half a page to record where you hope to have you baby. My answer "Chester Hospital" was clearly not what the author hadin mind! What I was hoping for was something to read back to my baby to tell it the sort of things we did together whilst I was pregnant, something to share. This book is OK if you want to write long paragraphs about mundane decisions, but not very exciting to share with your child. My first baby is still fascinated by the fact that he " went riding" on my horse for 6 monthsin mummy's tummy.
I'd recomend the mothercare book, pregnancy week by week, author Nina Grunfeld, if you can track it down.
Indispensable for expecting mothers! - By: , 04 Jun 2001
I bought it when I got pregnant & wrote everything I felt & kept with it all the scans from the baby. It was great to put everything down & even my husband wrote some comments, such as what he felt when we found out we were going to be parents. And the nicest thing is now, when my baby is 14 months old, to read what I wrote & what I expected. I'll keep it to give it to my daughter when she is older. It will be a nice book of memories to keep!
The journal that brings joy to write in. - By: sylviakiely@eircom.net, 13 Mar 2001
Truthfully, I have never had a journalin my life that has been has fulfilling as this one ,especially as I am pregnant & wanted to record every detailin an attractive way . yes!anne's pregnancy journal was perfectin every way & I am still using it. It is a journal that leaves no stone unturnedin regards to a womans pregnancy . I could not believe how much it covered, & i can say a lot of thought has gone into this journal to make it pregnancy-friendly. The division of the journal into the first three months, the second & third is a great way of keeping track of the pregnancy journey. There are sections for fillingin emotional changes as well as physical ones, how you feel about your body changing ,how others feel towards you,all this can be keptin the stylish journal. This journal has been a tremendous help as a momento of my pregnancy ,a beautiful record for my own baby to look back on. Even though it focus's on the mother, her expanding waistline ,her first scan & her first feeling of movements ..it also then highlights the baby's welcoming to the world, how the labour was & how the baby was. It has questions pregnant moms might forget to even ask themselves & is a great help.. even now whilst im only 24 weeks pregnant ,I still read back over the parts i have written & smile again & again at seeing each page unfold with a new picture of those gorgeous babies. This is a great buy for pregnant mothers ,I strongly advise it as part of her bookshelf.
