so soothing - By: Mrs. Lesley A. Hudswell, 07 Jan 2009
This book was written by someone who so clearly cares about the sufferings of people with anxiety problems, the author has a way of making you feel OK about yourself. It's been out a long time now though, & ideas about anxiety have moved on a bit. There's a new book that's just as caring & a bit more up to date - Free Yourself from Anxiety by Emma Fletcher & Martha Langley. Might be worth a try.
So helpful - By: hiljean, 23 Sep 2008
I picked up this book second-handin a charity shop last week & was a bit sceptical because this is obviously a book which was written many years ago. However as soon as I started reading it, like other reviewers here, I found immediate comfort & an accurate description of my symptoms & the causes of the physical sensations. My own GP has been totally unhelpful & I feel like taking a copy of this book into his surgery & urging him to recommend it to others.
Within a few chapters I was already able to face up to my irrational fears & start dealing with them & am astounded at how quickly I have started to recover. This book is immensely helpful & reassuring & I am rapidly returning to the strong, confident, cheerful person I was before I started suffering from anxiety attacks. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A real must buy - By: Mr. Dm Mckeown, 04 Aug 2008
I first suffered anxiety & depressionin my early twenties but didn't discover this book until I was almost 30. Like many other reviewers here it helped to change my life & I cried tears of relief like a few others when I first read it; it was amazing to me that millions of others had felt this way too. The advice here is wonderful & I still return to it when feeling a little shaky.

I was smiling from page one with comfort .

Its given me a new form of confidece & understanding , rather than the vicious circle ive beenin for 3 years.
Thank god I found it.
An amazing book - By: H. Tucker, 07 Jul 2008
I read this book about 18 months ago when I was suffering from anxiety & depression & it helped me 110%. I picked it up by chance when I was at my most scared & bewildered & it acted as a light for mein such a dark timein my life. Most importantly it explained what was happening to me & why I was feeling it. It helped me to understand more than any other source had what was going on & how I could learn to conquer my fear & move on with my life. Please do read this - it could be the one thing that helps to turn the anxiety around as it did for me. I recommend this to anyone who is feeling lost & scared due to their illness - it makes you understand that fear is the biggest obstacle & it can be overcome.
