Anyone who has read Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City will recognise that Nan has been copied from the eccentric elderly landlady,Mrs.Madrigal.The similarities are endless.
Wonderful, Uplifting, Unforgettable - By: M. Block, 08 Sep 2008
I want Nan as a friend! I wish she would adopt me. I thought she was the best female charactor I have read aboutin a long time. All the charactors were believable & I cared what happened to them all.
This is Jane Green's best bookin a while, The Beach House is definately somewhere I would want to visit!
Get this book I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
BRILLIANT - By: TeePee, 01 Sep 2008
This is such an enjoyable book & I must recommed any chick lit fanin need of a decent summer read buys it now.
About half way through, the book was starting to get a little obvious with who was going to end up with who but then a few twists appear along the way, which just kept me glued. The characters are so well described & you really feel part of them when the story starts to unravel.
I have only read one other Jane Green book (Bookends)and would truly recommed both. I will certainly be reading more of her booksin the future.
An excellent book & well done Green. You truly are amazing.
