Sensitive, poignant, enjoyable - By: RW, 06 Nov 2008
I guess it all depends what you like to read, but I was attracted to this book by the title & the cover ... & from that, it was exactly how I hoped it would be. I found myself quite involved with the book & the characters & found the story to be understanding, poignant & very enjoyable.
Let down!! - By: Ipodcrazy, 22 Aug 2008
This book has no strong plot, the characters are under developed & the last few chapters are very strange.
Furthermore, if you want to experience the symptoms of clinical depression, read this book! A total utter waste of time...it certainly doesnt deserve a second chance!
Not as good as I'd hoped - By: HenPen, 16 Aug 2008
I was given this book as a birthday present & was really looking forward to reading it after having enjoyed previous Jane Green novels & generally being a fan of easy to read 'chick-lit' but I was left a bit disappointed.
I found myself not really caring about what happened to any of the characters - except Paul & Anna who I liked.
Like other reviewers, I thought that the idea of old friends getting backin touch was a good one but so much more could have been done. In the end I just skip-read it really quickly to get it finished.
A MUST READ FOR ANY CHICK LIT FAN!!! - By: Leonie G. Plowright, 08 Aug 2008
Well I must say after reading all the other reviews for this i am dissapointed!in the so called jane green fans not the book!! I thought this was brilliant as all her books are! The story was believable the charactors likeable & the fact it was not based on just 2 main charactors as most books are made it even better! I read this book from start to finish over one weekend as I literally could not put it down!
please do not listen to the other reviews & give it a chance its an amazing read!!!
A depressing drag - By: Mami Sandra, 30 Jul 2008
This book was a real drag to get through. It took ages to "take off" & when it did, it only seemed to last for a few pages. The funeral/mourning storyline took up almost half of the book. Yes, these things happen, but why depress the reader by going on & on & on about it. The characters were unoriginal & outright boring, the ending predictable. No feel good factor there when getting to the last page, except perhaps relief that it's over.
