Certainly makes you laugh out loud on every page - By: Mr. James R. Williams, 30 Dec 2008
This book is a collection of Clarksons columns from the Sunday Times.
Containing his views on the previous weeks events (in the news & his own everyday life) & a couple of random & quite amusing views of the world.
Even if you don't agree with what he's saying you still can find the funny side & he'll make you laugh anyway.
Must read for Clarkson fans, anyone who finds it hard getting into a proper book or anyone who's generally a Clarksonite (grumpy & a bit clarkson like... which I am of course)
Love him or hate him, he's a good writer - By: Mr. Stuart Bruce, 13 Dec 2008
Putting aside the fact that Jeremy Clarkson has become a figurehead & role model for several generations of both Sun- & Guardian-reading frustrated middle-aged blokes, he is a very good writer. This collection of his newspaper columns show that off to great effect as he tackles all sorts of subjects, from money & politics to his own back garden, cramming lots of jokes as well as some interesting points into each 500-word-ish monologue.
Even if you don't agree with all of his opinions (I'd go for maybe 50%) & even if you can't stand the sight of him on TV, I still think you can enjoy the way this writing. It's not all rants, for a start.
The Penguin Celebrations edition is the one to buy. The text is exactly the same but because the cover has a 'classic Penguin' look instead of Jeremy Clarkson's confused face on it, it makes you look like you're reading proper literature. Which it is. Sort of.
Entertaining stuff, good for toilet reading - By: Chris Wood, 08 Aug 2008
This isn't so much a laugh out loud funny book but more the kind where you can appreciate some of his silly, OTT views. Clarkson has a gift for phrases & while a lot of it is sneering, it is enjoyable sneering from someone who doesn't take himself too seriously.
This is best delved into while having a meditative dump.
A very funny book! - By: confused person, 17 Jul 2008
The world according to Clarkson is a very funny book & would make ideal reading on a long haul flight but not if it was a night flight because you would probably be flung into the luggage compartment for disturbing the other passengers, by laughing too much. I couldn't put it down & laughed all the way through. If he decides to become a vegetarian & changes his opinion on foxes I'll definitely vote for himin the next election .
Verry Witty - By: Mr. Terence Jones, 03 Jul 2008
A good collection of Clarkson's newspaper articles covering a wide range of subjects.
My particular favourite is him waiting up all night, shotgunin hand determined to kill the fox that has killed his daughter's chicken (no really). Drunk & with very little idea of what he's doing the consequences (and subsequant barracking from his wife) is hilarious.
