An ideal introduction to tracing your family history. - By: K. M. Robson, 27 Feb 2002
Although written by a retired professional genealogist, it is very readable & an excellent introduction to the subject. It covers not only the usual topics of what information is available & from what sources etc., but also the basics of how to keep records, how to store & file all the information you gather, exactly what to look forin old records, etc. There are also precise instructions on how to actually draw up your family tree; all very valuable guidance to beginners to the subject which is often missingin other books.
