Living in the 70s - By: C. P. Dixon, 20 Apr 2008
I purchased a dual rice cooker/slow cooker, mainly for the rice bit, but on looking for recipes suitable for a slow cooker I plumped for this book for starters. Unfortunately this book is just an updated version of an old book first published around 30 years ago, so the recipes are a bit "livingin the 70s" (beef bourguignon anyone?). Slow cooking seems to be undergoing a bit of a revival, but we really need some new recipe books with more sophisticated recipes & flavours for more modern tastes.
Slow cooking properly explained - By: P. L. Mathers, 12 Mar 2007
I liked this book. It is defiantely for the slow cooker novice. The only thing i didnt like, is that it didnt have any pictures. This book explained everythingin precise detail, & even gave suggestions on, for example, what kind of rice to use - not what brand, but the actual kind, rather than just saying "Rice". The recipes range from meats, to pates, & desserts. I would recommend this book for anyone who is just starting out with their first slow cooker, & needs ideas to keep them from cooking just the recipes that come with the cooker.
It does exactly what it says on the tin!! - By: , 29 Dec 2005
I was given a slow cooker as a Christmas present this year. I got this book to give me a few ideas. It is well laid out with over a hundred easy recipes. There are plenty of helpful hints & tips to help you get started. Well worth the money.

A great way to cook. - By: Robert Park, 14 May 2003
An excellent introduction to slow cooking but just a trite outdatedin view of recent research findings on high temperature cooking. A great way & healthier way of cooking.
