Guaranteed to improve your cooking ability - By: S. Clarke, 19 May 2010
I've had my eye on this book for ages, so I was over the moon when a generous friend gave it to me as a birthday gift this year.
I have a huge collection of cookbooks but this is one of my favourite. The recipes are so easy to follow & everything tastes incredible. I had friends to stay recently & thought I'd push the boat out. I made the seafood risotto on page 328 & it went down a storm. We'd been out to a top London restaurant the night before & my friends said this risotto tasted better than the food served at a D&D restaurant. Praise indeed! Not meaning to blow my own trumpet but it was the best risotto I've ever had. I was very proud of myself!
The options are endless & each recipe is incredibly easy to follow. I regulary have to tweak recipes to suit my tastes but I would strongly advise that you don't mess with the programme here. So far, every recipe I've tried has been followed to the letter & has tasted amazing.
Every household should have a copy of this book; unless of course you don't like Italian food!
The Perfect Recipe Book For The Taste Of Italy - By: David, 22 Feb 2010
I love this book. Every recipe I've tried out so far has turned out perfectly. Some of the recipes seem too simple to make for tasty dishes, but if followed to the 'T,' turn out to be absolutley delicious! I am surprised every time.
E.g. try 'Chickenin Pink Sauce: you won't be disappointed.
I've bought this for a friend.

This book is all you need to make classic Italian cuisine. Short, simple recipes for really good results.
Brilliant book for beginners as well as seasoned cooks - By: T luvsEmpanadas, 04 Feb 2010
An absolutely brilliant book, & not only if you're a fan of italian food. Nearly al the recipes have less then 6 ingredientsin them, making them cheap, mostly easy but not at all less tasty. The index is brilliant, you can find everything on ingredient, so if, like me, you sometimes come home form the (super)market with an ingredient you just HAD to buy 'cause it looked so yummy. Flip open this book & find a recipe to use it with.
It's a great mix of low calorie recipes & more calorific ones. If you're a vegetarian (NOT a vegan)or like me, want to watch your meat intake, you'll find it very useful as well. There are many lovely veggie recipesin there. I don't think the were strictly meant to be vegetarian, the just happen to contain no meat or fish. The courgette charlotte for instance is a feast to the eye & absolutely delicious.
Many of the recipes are really healthy & rely, I think, on fresh seasonable produce, not a complicated list of ingredients. The recipes are meant for the home cook & are very versatile. By 'mixing & matching' you can create meals for special occasions or everyday.
The only down side to the book, for me, is there are hardly any pictures. I love to leave through cookbooks to get inspired by what a recipe looks like. This is not the book for that. But the contents make up for that.
Maybe good for beginners but in general terrible - By: J. G. Watters, 17 Jan 2010
Although I don't read Italian I can say that the French & English versions are useless. Anyone who has any experiencein homemade Italian cooking will find it risible. Ifin difficulty try "La Cucina" which is real Italian food & a good layout for anyone who has already tried to cook before. A lot better for the non-beginner.
