A piece of art on every detail - By: T. Partyla, 03 Jun 2005
Explains a lot of those things which I did not notice or not exactly understood. Quite a thick handbook makes flying more predictible, smart & safe. Good choice for every pilot.

The best introduction to technical gliding. - By: , 18 May 2002
The original, & still the best book about how gliders work. Simple text & clear diagrams help to show the reader why every aspect of the glider works the way it does. It helped me to understand why gliders are designed the way they are. I found that my flying improved when i fully understood the effects that the controls were having on the glider. It also gave me confidencein the speed & G limits of a glider. The book explains why breaking the limits is dangerous but also why it safe to go up to them & use the glider to its full potential. There are other good books on the subject, but this is the best.
Excellent, comprehensive and enlighting - By: , 07 Oct 2000
This book covers many subjects of gliding theory. The basics are covered comprehensively, with full answers to common puzzles: what happens when a glider turnsin the wind? I enjoyed most the insights into glider design - the limitaions of different designsin terms of safety, performance & other characteristics. You don't need a master's degreein aerodynamics to understand why most modern gliders sport a T tail & what its limitation are.
