Exceellent starter to pre hospital care study - By: Mr. Daniel J. Pidge, 12 Aug 2007
i found the book an invaluable platform to launch the interest of a large group of military medics. a small handful of guys have ordered this book as its a well structured study guide which is relatively simple to understand. If you want more indepth study books then there are a few better ones out there, i also own the US military PHTLS book but preferred this as a stepping stonein preparation for an upcoming deployment to afghanistan.
Dr or Paramedic - By: Mr. Robert F. Fellows, 02 Aug 2007
This is a useful background book written predominately by Doctors for emergency personnel. The 2nd edition has a Paramedic involvedin the writing, which is certainlyin the right direction. Shame it is full of black & white pictures. There are more useful books available on the shelf
Worth buying. - By: Olaf Kant, 26 Jul 2007
As a Paramedic this is an easy to use textbook with good explaining done, although there are qute a few graph's displayed these tend to be a bit minimalistic especially when comes done to explaning movements. I would definetely advise further reading for an indeep study. At the end of each chapter there is a list of books that would help. This would not be my first choice of books it is certainly worth having as cross referencein studies.
Brilliant! - By: UK Para, 28 Sep 2005
This book is essential for anyone from trainee technician to paramedic. It is clearly written & from an English point of view rather than american.
I highly recommend this book but they are doing a new edition at the end of 2005 so keep a look out for that!
EMERGENCY CARE-A TEXTBOOK FOR PARAMEDICS - By: , 05 Jun 2003
I am the proud owner of about 30 medical textbooks. However, this is the one I turn to the most.
It is simplein its explanation without reducing the quality or quantity of its content. It uses many diagrams & photographs to substantiate the text, & it the only British based paramedic textbook I have come across. Where appropriate, it also provides a 'further reading' list.
It isn't perfect, & as with everythingin life there are some minor indiscretions, but I like it. I use it as my first port of call, & if need be follow it up with more in-depth study. It is definately worth owning.
