The introduction of the term "universal museum" is obviously done to cover & to justify the reality that the museumsin question have indeed collectedin many cases artefacts from various countries under dubious if not purely illegal circumstances. Branding the call for repatriation of artefacts to their originating countries as "nationalistic" is simply pathetic. When & by whom was it decided that the museumsin question should assume the role of "universal museums"? Was the local population where the artefacts were taken from consulted for this?
