Good dictionary - but not for absolute beginners - By: abdekker@yahoo.com, 08 May 2001
An excellent dictionary for the more dedicated student. True, it does not have the pointed spellings you might expect for absolute beginners (like myself), but that is not the purpose of this dictionary. For beginners, I would suggest another book (such as Alef-Bet for adults) that teaches you the consonents & vowels, & pick up "adult" Hebrew later. You have to learn a lot to use this dictionary, but once you have picked up the basics, it is easy & fun to use. Good job!
Dictionary Found Wanting - By: Reverend R. G. Johnson, 17 Apr 2001
As a newcomer to the Hebrew language & wanting to be able to read the Tenakhin its Hebrew form, this dictionary did not have the vowel pointingsin the Hebrew words. I returned the dictionary as unsuitable to my requirement...

Thank you, Hayim Baltsan & all your colleagues for not only taking the time, & making the effort to produce this work, but also for the consideration & thought you gave those of us who desire to learn Hebrew. This dictionary has been, to coin a phrase, "a Godsend," & a splendid supplemental companion reference which can be used with Hebrew language primers & grammars. The "transliterations" provide additional support to the student's learning of each Hebrew word.
A wonderful tool which places a beautiful but difficult language within the reach of anyone who cares to take the challenge.
