Gripping ... - By: , 06 Jan 2005
I really enjoyed this book. I have read a lot of Jude Deveraux's books but this was a really riveting read. Jessica's strength & character is an inspiration for all women. And Jude Deveraux's depiction of Alex Montgomery is so great. I almost fellin love with him myself. This is a great book to read if you are new to Jude Deveraux. The book is fast paced, the characters are brilliant & the story is beautifully told.
Romantic, humouress and sexy - By: J. Weaver, 08 Feb 2004
I loved this book. The 2nd of Jude Deveraux's books I've read & once again I couldn't put it down. The masked raider is gorgeous, daring & heroic. Alexander Montgomery is fat, vain, & the laughing stock of the town. So how is it possible that these two men are infact the same person!!? Jessica Taggert is beautiful but hates all men & would rather don her masculine fishing togs & go catch lobster than entertain a man; that is until the raider kisses her one night. She tries her best to resist the masked charmer but how will she feel when she discovers he is actually the overweight town bafoon, Alex? Jessica & the whole town have come to rely on the raider. He is a symbol of hope & strives to free the town from the slavery it is under. That is unless he is caught....

It is a brilliant & funny read. It had me laughing outloud & gripping the bookin tension towards the end.

"Raider" is my favorite book by Jude Deveraux - By: , 05 Jun 1999
I've read & own almost all of Jude Deveraux's novels. I love all of them. They add the romance that real life doesn't offer. "Raider" is my favorite of all. The dashing hero, the sassy heroine. This book's got it all. Keep up the good work, Jude, & I'll keep buying them. By the way, I love how almost of all her books tiein the Montgomery's & the Taggerts.
Really great book.. - By: , 20 Feb 1999
I really enjoy this book. But Jessica wasn't really nice to Alex, then they end up marrying eachother. And the Raider", god he seems like one of those guy that thinks there all that. But hey like i said i really enjoy this book. The part were Jessica turns down the Raider, & goes for Alex instead(even though there the same person)I was really proud of her because she show that marriage is a very special to her & means to keep her vows. I hope your enjoy it as much as i did.
