Worst attempted representation of drugs culture I've ever read. - By: Andrew R. Woolley, 17 Mar 2008
Trust me this is the single most ridiculous thing I've ever read. The drugs culutre simply does not work like this, people don't just get drugs thrown at them & another thing is that the addiction potential for acid is zero, speed is less addictive than the three legal drugs.

Overall a work of fiction thats probably more fantasy than lord of the rings, yes some people fall into terrible addiction but this book is certainly not the standard life of a teenage drugs user.
Brilliant But Im Not Sure If Its Real...... - By: Ruby, 02 Jan 2008
I am only coming up to my tenage years & i've read Go Ask Alice twice. It is an amazing story but you have to ask yourself this question: Did this really happen? I know there were so many drug deathsin america back then (Whenever 'Back Then Was') but a lot of it is a little deap to be a 15 year old american girl! I mean some of its a bit unbleavable. Aside from that it did put me off drugs for life so i suppose real or not it can effect people so if your a parent whos considering buying this for there kid be them a 11 year old or a 18 year old i would strongly advise you to do it. By the way i took 1 star off because i question if its real or not.........Buy It Now!!!!!!!!!
brilliant - By: P. Ahern, 23 Aug 2007
i thought this book was simply brilliant! it really shocked me, because even though i assume it was writtenin like...the 60s or something i could totally relate to alice! everything about this book is fascinating & shocking at the same time. its amazing that, if this really happened. alice could be so many teenage girls i know, girls i do know, bored by their lives, frustrated by there parents, & using drugs as a way to rebel & have something that is just...funin their lives. i would recomend this book to anyone who feels slightly trapped by their lives, to show what can happen
A hoax? - By: P, 31 Jul 2007
It's been suggested by several sources that the diariesin this book is based on aren't genuine - that why were written by someonein the publishing industry.

Having read the book, I have strong doubts about the authenticity of these diaries. They just don't ring true - they feel more like an adult writingin a style he/she considers a 15 year old girl would write in. The grammar is simply too good (in my opinion) for a 15 year old to have written ... & when was the last time you heard a 15 year old use words like 'echelon' & 'antagonistic'.

It's an enjoyable enough read; but the book's main selling point is its claim to be true, & I found this very hard to believe
still makes a point - By: M. Farrell, 04 Oct 2006
I was 17 when I first read this book...right backin 1985.....it soon set me on the right path. Still a viable book evenin today's culture. If you have a teen or ARE a teen...read this BEFORE trying what your friends say won't harm you.
Brilliant book.
