Light reading for history buffs - By: Linda Oskam, 23 May 2007
In his spare time Clive Cussler, the renowned author of adventure stories starring Dirk Pitt, hunts for historic ships that went down at sea or on rivers, by the hand of nature or man. In this first book he describes the explorations of the volunteers of NUMA to trace those ships. The ships are mainly 19th & 20th century warships. In about ten short stories he first very vividly describes what may have happened on board of the boats based on historical facts combined with fantasy & then the tedium & excitement of searching for & finding the ships (plus one train engine).

Clive Cussler has a very funny style of writing which makes this book light reading, even though content-wise it is mainly for the really historically interested.
Unbelievable - By: , 04 Dec 2003
I love these books, all of clive cusslers books are fantastic but the Sea Hunters has that little bit extra because you know that these stories are real! Basically the book is a collection of stories put together by Clive Cussler & tell of how the ship met its demise, it also goes on to tell of how Clive Cussler & NUMA actually track them down & pin point the location of the wrecks! After i bought it, i ended up staying awake all night & deep into the next morning to ensure i finished the book as i couldnt put it down, even though i kept telling myself that the next story would be the last i read! A must have for any reader! 5 Stars!
If you like Cussler, you`ll love this. - By: S. Lovell, 14 Jun 2002
Cussler approaches some of the factual accounts of wrecks like his books. Based on actual accounts & facts, Cussler uses his litary style and, not a little poetic licence to enhance the readability of this highly entertaining book.
Get ready, get set, go! - By: , 19 Jul 2001
The Sea Hunters as I understand it from reading about Cussler [...] is that this was his doctoral dissertation. If mine could only be this fun to write.

Chalk full of interesting stories about some of the ships he has actually tried to find, found & mapped while bringing to life the tragic ill-fated night/day they were lost makes for an excellent read. I thought that by the end I couldn't have been more surprised but I was wrong. And I was rewarded it was an ending only Cussler can give, one that had me laughing so hard, my flatmates thought I had gone off the deep end.

This along with Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler Revealed gives a great insight into today's number one action-adventure writer. A definite must for your Cussler library.
