Thankyou for helping me pass! - By: , 04 Aug 2005
This book helped me pass my English Literature GCSE with an A*. It's very well detailed, & helps you to understand events & themesin the play, & link them together. There's a brief synopsis on the thoughts of the inspector, which helps you to understand the actions of the character. Also, this book is writtenin a way that makes it easy to pick up & want to read, & they layout is good for the visual learner.
An Inspector Calls - York Notes - By: , 19 Jun 2004
York notes i would rate as one of the most helpful study guides available. They give you them vital pieces of information needed to form a well writen & researched coursework piece. Being a GCSE student, it is sometimes hard to deal with pages & pages of reasearch, i found that these books contain most of the info you need, & they were understandable, plus they devide them into clear & easy to find sections.
The book, An Inspector Calls, i found to be quite a simple book, but you can still miss out on some of the key facts. For example who actually was the Inspector? And that taking responsibility was one of the main themesin the play. These guides explain all of these factors & more.
And before you start thinking i'm too good for these books, I achieved A* grades thanks to them. So swallow your pride & get one!
Very useful - By: , 07 Apr 2004
I have to say, like all York Notes, this book goes into enough detail for GCSE, but not too much, gives clear ideas, & is set out so that it covers themes, characters, individual chapters etc! If you are just doing coursework on this book or taking the exam on it, it is very useful.
