Amazing, amusing, tragic and poignant all at the same time - By: Helen Simpson, 30 Nov 2006
As a 13 year old I can remember having to learn about Franz Ferdinand, The Black Hand Gang, allies & enemies, dates & times & other mundane facts that actually didn't mean much to me.
In contrast, this book would enthuse any Year 7 pupil (andin my case 40+) to do a GCSEin History or just be grateful for our freedom & the fact that we can read a book like this!
