Brilliant Little Book - By: kjc_sussex, 26 Jul 2010
After making the decision to return to Vegetarianism after a short absence, I needed some quick & easy meals I could serve the whole family. Have tried a couple of them now since buying the book last week & I have not been disappointed, it's easy to follow, & there aren't hundreds of different ingredients to trip you up!!!!!
It's got to be good, even my 2year old who could easily win fussy eater of the year was impressed with the meals i've served him! Definitely a good move buying this book!

A more than pleasant surprise - By: Ms. Claire Campbell, 28 Apr 2010
This was the first bookin the 101 series that I purchased & I'm so glad that I did. I use cooking as part of my medical rehabilitation as folling the instructions helps me to become more logical. I have a massive head injury so my ability to be logical has been affected. I started cooking one night a week from a recipe to try to teach my brain that while you might what to eat peas with your meal you don't often start them off right at the beginning (unless you want VERY mushy burny peas!), & also that you can substiute some things for others sometimes (but I'm still working on the skill). I've got quite a range of recipe books by different authors but some of them assume that you a) have a degreein cooking, b) run a restaurant, & c) have all the time/cashin the world to play with.
These books are brilliant. They are small (so not too heavy for my disabled arms to carry/read), easy to follow (so don't need all those Michelin stars or whatever), have a photo of the finished product (so I can see if I've missed something obvious out), & give amazing results (which is good for my ego & stomach). I've never had a recipe go Wrong from one of these books nor had one that was 'alright but I wouldn't do again'.
Btw - the Parmesan chicken is so fantastic I'd cook double the quantity & have the bit you don't eat hot cold with a salad the next day. If you don't have the cream crackers it says you can use corn flakes, well we used so leftover oatiflakes & the result was amazingly good.

Excellent everyday book - By: P. G. Harris, 13 Mar 2010
I have a simple test for a cookery book. Does it contain at least one recipe which becomes part of my standard repetoire. A recipe which I go to again & again. If it does, it was worth buying.
This book passes my test with flying colours. The polenta pizza is an excellent recipe which both works as a quick everyday dish & with a bit of clever presentation, as a dinner party dish. Others which I have repeated are Thai satay Noodles, Spicy Nasi Goreng & hot mushrrom & kumquat salad.
The recipes are clearly presented & easy to follow & the book is an entertaining magpie, taking recipes & recipe ideas from across the world.
