Having heard Al Read on a Radio 2 series a couple of years ago, I put this double tape on my Christmas list & have been very pleased with it. For anyone amused by Northern humour, this is a must. Al's portrayal of characters such as the Johnny Know All & the Henpecked Husband are both true to life & a joy to listen to (although I'm sure these characters are not unique to the North of England!). The little boyin the doctor's waiting room reminded me of my young self - you never could shut me up! The tales Al tells are daft & far fetched - as are the best comedy tales - but I found myself visualising the scenes, which enhanced the humour of the shows & had me laughing even more.

One of those shows when you wish it won't end, but unfortunately it does - so I'm looking forward to Volumes 2 & 3. They'll be next on my list!
