good book - By: Phoebe Dixon, 31 May 2010
This book has comein to much use as I'm taking A.S photography, this book covers most sections of contemporary art with a good amount of information on each artist. With this book I'm never short of an artist to write about. Also this book is around A5 so you ca carry it around with you which also helps if you want to carry it around.
my view on this product - By: Marie-louise Hall, 08 Jan 2010
I'm studying a photography course at University, I bought this book as my lecturer told me it would give me a good insight into the many photographers & some history of the subject butin a different way to the other books which are available. However, all though I am brightin understanding & learning, the vast amount of wide vocabulary which I do not usually use, made it hard for me to get on with this book. I would have loved the book had it got more simple terms, but because it hadn't I struggled to finish it. Maybe it's just my understanding of photography, or the fact that i'm only 19?
It's a good book, but takes some getting used too.

A good catalog of contemporary artists - By: L. Gonzalez, 07 Apr 2009
Opposed to what is saidin the introduction this is actually a "checklist of the photographers who merit a mentionin a discussion on photography as contemporary art (...)in major art centers such as New York, Berlin Tokyo or London". That is it. A good, handy sort of "who is who" type of catalog of contemporary artists & trends.

Brilliant book! Really well written & presented. Easy to follow themesin contemporary photography. Ideal for students as an introduction to various types of photography & good for references. Really cheap, too - an absolute bargain!
