Very Good - By: Dental Student, 19 Apr 2008
As a first year dental student, following the basic medical science curriculum at Liverpool, I have found this book to be an invaluable resource, yes it has its inaccuraciesin places & perhaps isn't as detailed as core texts on anatomy & physiology but for any first year dental or medical student this book is pitched at exactly the right level. I would advise anyone who uses this book to also use a core anatomy text alongside it as at times it does lack information with regards to the relationships between organs & vessels, giving you the anatomy of the structures themselves but not really demonstrating their orientation to surrounding tissues. This book provides, as mentioned, an invaluable resource for any first year dental or medical student, providing information on the anatomy, physiology, histology & embryology of all the systems.
Not really for medics - By: NS, 02 Apr 2008
This is a well written book. It gives a good introduction to anatomy & physiology. However, as a medical student I found that there is not enough details either for anatomy or physiology. It would probably be helpfulin year one semester one.

I bought this book because I liked how it is written & I liked the pictures & diagrams. However I ended up buying separate anatomy book (Moore full size *****) & separate physiology book.

The best book on the current market - By: C. C. Chivers, 18 Jan 2008
Very detailed, allin colour, comparatively cheap for what it is & has an online website with learning aids such as written exercises & quizzes (this effectively eliminates the need for the companion book). A must have & a keeper for future reference. If you buy nothing else for A&P, get this book!

Wow great!
Contains NEARLY everything I need for my A&P module for sports studies degree. I got another free book with it too, showing a brief atlas of the skeleton, surface anatomy & medial images. Theres just some basics its missing but not much to be honest. Also it is a good workout for the arms when your reading it!
