Entertaining stuff, good for toilet reading - By: Chris Wood, 08 Aug 2008
This isn't so much a laugh out loud funny book but more the kind where you can appreciate some of his silly, OTT views. Clarkson has a gift for phrases & while a lot of it is sneering, it is enjoyable sneering from someone who doesn't take himself too seriously.

This is best delved into while having a meditative dump.
A very funny book! - By: confused person, 17 Jul 2008
The world according to Clarkson is a very funny book & would make ideal reading on a long haul flight but not if it was a night flight because you would probably be flung into the luggage compartment for disturbing the other passengers, by laughing too much. I couldn't put it down & laughed all the way through. If he decides to become a vegetarian & changes his opinion on foxes I'll definitely vote for himin the next election .
Verry Witty - By: Mr. Terence Jones, 03 Jul 2008
A good collection of Clarkson's newspaper articles covering a wide range of subjects.

My particular favourite is him waiting up all night, shotgunin hand determined to kill the fox that has killed his daughter's chicken (no really). Drunk & with very little idea of what he's doing the consequences (and subsequant barracking from his wife) is hilarious.
Cost per laugh must be less than 1 penny - By: Sally Wilton, 30 Jun 2008
Sorry Amazon I bought this onein the supermarket for 3 quid & great value it is tooin its stylish penguin cover.

Misery FM, newly retirees who take up golf,in fact anyone who plays golf, Nelson Mandela, Paris the land of daylight robbery are all lampoonedin this light hearted read.

Lots of laugh out loud anecdotes & my partner liked the bits I read out too. I particularly like his total loyalty to good old England & when you have spent time abroad like he has you really learn to appreciate this country, even Terry Wogan & the weather.

There are lots & lots of short chapters, some will have you cracking up whilst others are more like musings on various topics. Not to be missed & the best book to take to someone who is feeling down.
Excellent! - By: Jeff Carter, 10 Mar 2008
In a section of this book, Clarkson tells us that he cannot believe how fast time passes as we get older. I agree. And I could not believe how quickly the back cover of this excellent book was approaching as I was reading it. As one who can normally make a book last until the end of time, I was amazed at how quickly I got through this one. The fact is that it is almost impossible to put it down once you start to read it. Page after side-splitting page, chapter after hilarious chapter, this was the best book I have readin a long time. A compilation of his Sunday Times articles from a few years ago, he expresses opinions with the subtlety of a bulldozerin a style that will have youin fits of laughter, unless you happen to be from Wales, Belgium or Surrey. Foxesin particular are likely to be offended but for the rest of us, this was a damn good read. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with everything he writes. But then, it isin such a tongue-in-cheek style that I doubt if even he does entirely. Nevertheless, if you like your humour to be non-pc, irreverant, satirical, bold and, of course, slightly overweight, then this is the book for you! Truly magnificent!
