Totally brilliant - By: Hollie Dryden, 21 Jul 2009
This book was the firstin the oregon files from Clive Cussler & was a brilliant read, so many twists & turns, a couple of times I even found myself laughing aloud! Couldn't get my head out of the book- highly recommended read if you enjoy adventure novels.
Rubbish, Absolute RUBBISH - By: Miracle, 06 May 2009
I can't be bothered to go into the stupid gory details but "Golden Buddha" is simply dreadful - & I'm saying this as a (guilty) fan of some of Cussler's Dirk Pitt books like "Inca Gold", "Treasure" & "Valhalla Rising". Anyone who has enjoyed those neat little numbers will be sorely disappointed by this "novel". What we have here is a case of "Let's put together 500 pages of any old drivel, slap on one of those cool covers, get it out there & get the money in". This travesty is actually a slapin the face to Cussler's loyal fans - and, believe me, it hurts.
New hero, but still good old Cussler - By: Espen Hult, 23 Apr 2009
In the new series the Oregon Files, Cussler introduces a new hero, Juan Cabrillo & his team of mercenaries onboard the old (looking) ship the Oregon. But the cast, plot & storytelling is still pure Cussler at his best!
Golden Buddha is the first book i a series of six books (so far) about the Oregon & Juan Cabrillo. The books can be read individually, but your probably better of starting with this, & read on from here.
Excellent start to an amazing series - By: C.W.P, 21 Aug 2008
The first Novel I read form the Oregon Files was Dark Watch, I avoided the two books Cussler co-authored with Craig Dirgo because of the poor reviews on this site. After finishing Plague ship I was left wanting more from the Oregon, not wanting to wait for the release of the next book, I Read Golden Buddha.
My fears about the co-author were misguided & I have come to realise all that matters is the namein the large print. Cussler's style of prose is engaging as always.
A Book that will grip you form the start & not let go untill you finish subsequently leaving you gasping for the next installment.
Getting tired - By: Red, 05 Aug 2008
Very poor reading, the formula doesnt work. Try the `Soft Target` novels by Conrad Jones they are brilliant booksin the same genre.
