As most readers will probably know, the ancient art of tantra is essentially based on the prolongation of intimate contact,in order to attain a summit of spiritual ecstasy that transcends the physical aspects of lovemaking- transporting the participant into a whole other realm of macrocosmic enlightenment. The hustle & bustle of today's world may seem incompatible with taking the 'scenic route' around nature's most celebrated pastime, but I would highly recommend it. Even the most over-worked businessman ought to make time for such a soul-altering experience (although it is wise to reach verbal agreement before attempting to submerge oneselfin prolonged congress with an equally time-pressed businesswoman- especially if she conducts her 'business' at an hourly rate).
Anyhow, this is an excellent guide to an art that has often been compared to the marathon- although Doreen feels that it is far less physically gruelling (certainly not as demanding as the 'triathlon' we attempted one night, after Boot's ran a two-for-one promotion on Vaseline). Anyway, with regular practise, it is amazing to see how quickly the endurance begins to accumulate. Only yesterday, I began a session at 5pm- a session that did not culminate until long after darkness fell! Once the sense of conciousness begins to dissolves into the holistic vacuum of time & space, the hours just flash past at a rate that defies belief! Indeed, had I not been interrupted by Doreen's return from the snooker club, I should probably have continued to 'make my own entertainment' long into the early hours of the morning! These days, a single act of 'procrasturbation' is quite enough to necessitate the deferral of tiresome chores (such as mowing the lawn or feeding the fish) until the following day.

This book is very small & so is useful to carry aroundin your pocket for a discrete handy reference to Tantra & Tantric sex while you are on the train or on holiday. It is well illustrated with colour photo's & is a good basic guide to tantric sex, & filled with fun, playful & sensual excersises. Cassandra was trained through Sky dancing & the content reflects, somewhat, the style of the "World famous tantra teacher", Margot Anand. It provides the reader with a way of experiencing tantra without having to attend a tantric workshop - an option that some people would definitely prefer. Workshops can be too personal or intimate for some people.
I would also recommend purchasing Leorah's "Tantric Sexuality " CD & DVD &in particular, playing the CD to some of the exercisesin this book .

A great guide to the ancient practice. - By: SM, 06 Dec 2007 This is a good book for tantric novices. I found a lot of good, appealing info inside, & it really explained the ancient practice quite well. You can't go wrong with this one if you are wanting to know more. I higly recommend it, along with Sex Machine--Charlotte Kane.
