Complete Paddington Bear-a cd book! - By: S. Väpnargård, 04 Dec 2008
Wonderfully read by amazing Stephen Fry (is there anything this man CANNOT DO?!)the much loved contemporary yet classical stories about the small & lovable bear from darkest Peru, continues to spellbind & entertain generation after generation. In all 7 cd's with at least one hour playing time each, the last three beeing Michael Bonds newest contribution, the novel Paddington Here & now-thus celebrating the little chaps 50-th anniversary.
A great buy for kids of all ages & their parents too....
The actual cd case feels a bit breakable-nice enough design, but maybe best handled by adult, rather than a child.
Paddington's adventure brought to life! - By: Lindsey Lawrence, 20 Oct 2008
After reading a few paddington books, i decided it may be a good idea to get them on audio. I was going to get them seperatly, but saw this set & worked out cheaper than buying the three seperatly. Stephen Fry is perfect reading paddington & makes his aventures seem real. I loved listening to them when doing the house wrok, but i haven't listened to paddington here & now because i haven't read the book & don't want to spoil any surprises, but when i have read it, i'll listen to it. This is the best way to introduce little ones to paddington & will make sure that a new generation will fallin love with him!
Lovely readings of the bear from darkest Peru - By: D. KNIGHT, 08 Sep 2008
This is simply wonderful.
It calls itself the best of "Paddington Bear on CD", but at the time of this review, it's the only Paddington on CD.
This 7 disc boxset includes the 3 individually available volumes "A Bear Called Paddington", "More About Paddington" & "Paddington Here And Now"
As much as I don't particularly like Stephen Fry, he's an excellent & entertaining narrator. I loved his readings of Jennings & this is very much the same style. It's simple; but thoughtful & eloquently read.
As a child, the really big thingsin my (televisual) week were Doctor Who, Batman & $6,000,000 Man. Before I came to ANY of those things I had books about Paddington. These excellent readings take me right back to those happy & carefree times.
Brilliant & enchanting.
