The second section - By: B. Chandler, 13 Sep 2005
This book picks up where "Fellowship of the Ring (Lord of the Rings, Part I)", left off. The fellowship is dispersed. We are luckyin the fact that J. R. R. Tolkien will completely follow each path from beginning to end. All the wars are coveredin detail & the progress of the ring bearer is chronicled. New creatures & old vermin reveal themselves. The adventures hare much darker & character growth is reviled. As you know this is not part of a trilogy, but the second part of one ongoing story.
As with "Ramayana" by William Buck, we find that every creature has its function & that there is not black & whitein this purpose. Frodo alludes to this when he thinks of Gandalf, Aragorn, & Gollumin the part they play.

The two towers is a wonderful book on its own with amazing songs & poetry. The characters are brought to lifein this set of cds with amazing voices. The songs are not spoken but sung, the elvish is very well spoken & fluent.
You'll want to listen to the cd over & over again. Its the best thing after watching the movie. Tolkien's books are knowen to be of amazing quality & one of the best classics of all time. This is a tale for an age but will be enjoyed more when you are older when you see the real quality of this work.
This adventure starts with the departure of boromir & the chase by Aragorn, legolas & gimli to find Merry & Pippin who have been captured by orcs. It later goes on about Frodo & Sam's frantic journey to destroy the ring, they are met by a character that they do not expect...
I would recomend this as a gift to anyone as it inspires everyone who reads it & they will wish they were there.
